November 09: welcome reception and draw
VALLETTA, MALTA – For the first time in years, the organisers held an amazingly huge welcome reception for the Junior Eurovision in the standard of senior Eurovision we used in Malmoe or Copenhagen. The Welcome Reception at the President’s Summer Residence in Rabat looked liked as if it was the red carpet for the Oscars with huge media attention and excellent organisation.
During the welcome reception EBU’s Vlad Yakovlev welcomed the delegations to the 12th edition of the contest and marked the amazing number of participation, 16, the highest number since 2007.
The countries were called to draw for their first or second half of appearance as the organisers will decide in which final running order they will perform using the senior Eurovision standard to make the show great to watch. Malta as the host country though draw her running order and it’s number 15.
Belarus will open the contest in spot number one and The Netherlands will close the contest in number 16. In the first half we will have: Croatia, Bulgaria, San Marino, Cyprus, Sweden, Georgia, Ukraine and in the second half, Montenegro, Slovenia, Russia, Serbia, Italy, Armenia.
