MONTENEGRO – RTCG’s Nataša Baranin revealed today that the public will have the ultimate say in the result of Montevizija.
ALBANIA – RTSH announced that Inva Mula will be the artistic director of Festivali i Këngës and Bledi Laço with Pandi Laço as the directors of the festival. It was also revealed that the 22 songs will be presented to the audience for the first time during the live shows.
SPAIN – More information revealed for Operación Triunfo’s Eurovision Gala. Submissions period is from 1/11 to 15/11. RTVE is also inviting established composers. Eurovision Gala winner and therefore the Spanish entrant for Tel Aviv will bee decided by the audience. Unlike last year all 16 students will be eligible for the Eurovision Gala in any form (solo, duet, group). There will be a week voting for three songs to proceed to Eurovision Gala.
IRELAND – Ireland’s Eurovision 2017 contestant’s X Factor journey was on the brink of ending last night as Brendan Murray had to sing for his place on the show against LMA Choir, his rendition of “High and Dry” by Radiohead earned a great reaction from the audience and from his mentor former One Direction star Louis Tomlinson, who later apologised to Brendan as he thought his song choice was the reason Brendan was in the bottom two.
SERBIA – Although the submissions were due today, RTS gave a 15 day extension. RTS says this will rise nth competition. RTS also emphasises on the song and leaves open doors for change of the performer is necessary.
ARMENIA – Armenian head of delegation, David Tserunyan said that the country will finalise its plans and decisions for Israel, after the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Though it was the Armenian broadcaster teasing in their social media the possibility of internally selection the runner up winner of New Wave Festival.
ESTONIA – Twenty-four songs have been submitted to Eesti Laul 2018 so far. The venues for the semi-finals are yet to be revealed although this was suppose to take place today.
GREECE – It seems that Greek fan clubs and media spread the info that Tamta will represent Greece in 2019 Eurovision but for now there is no indication this will come true.
GERMANY – Michael Schulte attended the family room while his friend Fabian Riaz was bidding at The Voice. Fabrian performed You Let Me Walk Alone, the song with which Michael brought Germany 4th place in Eurovision 2018.
GEORGIA – Auditions for Georgia’s Idol kicked off. The show will end up not only with selecting the 20119 Eurovision representative but also the song. Auditions will conclude on November 7th inn Kutaisi.
CROATIA – There will be three nights of DORA this year. First night will be Chansons and Optaija Serenades with the Symphony Orchestra, second night will be DORA classics and third night will be entries for Eurovision 2019. Dora was previously used to select every Croatian entry from the country’s debut in 1993 until 2011. HRT cancelled the selection after 2011.
