Norway 2016: NRK presents the MGP songs on 19/1

OSLO, NORWAY – The participants of the Norwegian national selection, Norsk Melodi Grand Prix, will be revealed on Tuesday, January 19, at 12.00 CET. The musical director of the show Jan Fredrik Karlsen, will reveal the shortlisted singers.
Short song clips will be initially released, while on February 2, the full version of the entries will be available to the public. According to Karlsen, Melodi Grand Prix will mostly feature up and coming artists but he noted there are several of them who are hungry to win both the national selection and Eurovision itself.
Norway will choose its representative for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest on February 27. A preview show, featuring all the participants, will be aired in the week leading up to the national selection.

At the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest, Norway was represented by Mørland & Debrah Scarlett with the song “A Monster Like Me”. It achieved a respectable eighth position in the grand final. Norway is looking to extend its run of good results in recent years. It has achieved a top ten placing in the grand final since 2013.
