No Valentina Monetta for San Marino 2015!
CITY OF SAN MARINO, SAN MARINO – Now, that’s a breaking news! The state television of San Marino started already to seek the singer for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. The quest already began before the end of Copenhagen’s Eurovision edition according to secure sources to oikotimes.com
The preliminary information we got, although not officially confirmed (as SMRTV has not reached a final decision) is that a male singer (we are embargoed to reveal his name yet) is already in negotiations with the state television to perform in Austria’s Eurovision edition next year.
Surprisingly for most of us San Marino qualified to the final this year with Valentina Monetta participating for the third time in the contest and Ralph Siegel accompanying the artist on stage. Third time lucky or was it just enough of seeing Valentina in Eurovision? In any case the Valentina Monetta-Vision seems to be over!
DID YOU KNOW?
Valentina Monetta was born and raised in San Marino being the younger of the two children of a Sammarinese mother and an Italian father. A graduate of the Giovanni da Rimini school in Rimini, Monetta became self-taught in piano and voice from an early age and developed an especial affinity for jazz and R&B music. Monetta began her singing career in 1995 fronting the group Tiberio and was subsequently involved with a number of bands including Parafunky, Harem-B, 2blackBluesmobile, and My Funky Valentine. Monetta also competed in the 2001 edition of the televised singing competition Popstars. (source: wikipedia.org)
