MATTHIAS POGODA: NO PROBLEM WITH “GLORIOUS”
The German entry at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest “Glorious”, accused of plagiarising the 2012 winning song “Euphoria”, has been cleared of all fraud allegations.
An expert hired by broadcaster NDR has found no major similarities between the two songs. “Glorious and Euphoria are merely similar in style and there are no copyright concerns”, Matthias Pogoda, hired by the broadcaster says. The authors of “Euphoria” have wished “Glorious” all the best in Malmoe.
The song “Glorious” will be performed by Cascada. German tabloids branded the song as plagiarism quickly after it won the country’s national final.
