CHISINAU, MOLDOVA – Moldova’s national broadcaster, TRM, has announced the rules for its national selection. Potential Eurovision representatives have until January 23 to submit their song to TRM’s Eurovision department in Chisinau.
Songs can be submitted from other countries but the singer must be Moldovan, though he or she can collaborate with foreign composers. There is no limit on the number of submissions each singer can make.
A shortlist of 60 singer will be made by an internal jury. The 60 singers will perform their songs live on February 1. Semi-finals will take place on March 11, 13 with 12 participants each. 8 from each semifinal will proceed to the final.
Through the semi-finals, eight songs will qualify, seven through the 50-50 jury and televote system, and one saved by the televote only. The final will take place on March 15 with 16 acts.
