MGP 2016: Jan Fredrik Karlsen replaces Vivi Stenberg; NRK kicks off selection
OSLO, NORWAY – Jan Fredrik Karlsen is officially announced by NRK as he man replacing Vivi Stenberg in the head job for Melodi Grand Prix, the show through which Norway decides its participation to the Eurovision Song Contest.
“It is a huge task that it is cool to be able to do. This is my dream job, says the always enthusiastic Karlsen NRK.no. I love pop music!”
Music enthusiast is not an unknown face for the viewers as he was a jury member in the Idol show, also participating in shows like X-Factor and Norwegian talents. Prominent figure of the Norwegian music business, he was also manager of Kurt Nielsen.
“I love pop music, and I love many people while digger things alike. Grand Prix is one of the few perpetual concepts that people still love to look at and think about something. When you hit correctly, you embrace a whole nation”, says the new MGP-general.
MGP 2016 KICKS OFF
In the meantime NRK kicks off the submissions for the 2016 edition of Melodi Grand Prix. No date for the final has announced but there is an online form for those interested to submit their applications and song. Follow the link here. Submissions due on September 11th!
