MGP 2014: NEW LOGO FOR NORWAY
OSLO, NORWAY – Norwegian national broadcaster presented the revamped logo of Melodi Grand Prix 2014, through which the country will decide its participation to Copenhagen.
Fifteen artists will compete in the national final this year. The expert jury has listened to a diverse and very competent submission entries. The jury is made by Vivi Stenberg and consists of: Marie Komissar, Tarjei Strøm, Gisle G. Stokland, Kathrine Synnes Finnskog.
The choice of the jury made because these people are understanding the music scene of Norway of today and they are very passionate with strong opinions, says Stenberg. The final 15 acts will be presented by the end of January.
This year, the Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix jury has received over 600 entries from hopeful songwriters, producers and artists. Musical director Vivi Stenberg has spent several months reviewing these contributions. The process of picking out the very best of the crop is time consuming, exciting and also a lot of fun.
MGP 2014 will have three semifinals (March 7, 8, 9) in the Oslo National Theatre and a final on March 15th at Oslo Spectrum. Stian Malme says that they want to create a new, crazy, intense and exciting show for national selection.
NRK will prepare special TV programs for the viewers to get to know the artists. The public will be able to follow the entire process of the selection, the preparations through the website and the special TV programs.
NRK will also make sure the people are highly interested on the show, having a say though the web and social media. After all the public will see these artists creating their MGP songs from scratch and not having them ready already.
Tickets for MGP 2014 will become available for sale as of today.
