VIENNA, AUSTRIA – With the Eurovision Song Contest coming to an end tonight, focus is shifting on the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, whose organizers held a press conference in Vienna. Hosts Bulgaria say they are ready to welcome participants from across Europe and thanked last year’s host Malta for an excellent production.
“As Bulgarians we’re really proud to welcome you to our country. As BNT we’re proud to host such a wonderful event. JESC has been gaining more & more popularity over the last few years. JESC not only entertains, it also unites and inspires dreams”, BNT’s general director Viara Ankova said.
The slogan of this year’s show will be #discover. Executive Producer, Joana Levieva Sawyer, said, “Young people discover the world and their dreams every day, and with our show we want to create a new world for them that they can discover. We also invite Vincenzo, together with Krisia, Hasan, and Ibrahim to be part of our show next year. We are welcoming the children of Europe to Bulgaria – and in return we’ll give them an experience they’ll never forget”. The venue for this year’s show will be the Arena Armeec in Sofia, which has the capacity to seat 15.000 people but will welcome some 8.000 for JESC itself.
