May 19 / First Semifinal Qualifiers press conference
VIENNA, AUSTRIA – VIENNA, AUSTRIA – After an exciting and beautiful first semi-final, we eventually know who’s in and who’s out amongst tonight’s line up. The traditional press conference with the 10 lucky winners is being held. Each entrant is asked 2 questions (one from local media and one from international press). Eventually they will all draw their sport in Saturday’s final.
Elaida did not expect a qualification and is…happy! Being in the final is crazy and a big responsibility at the same time. She feels particularly proud of waving her flag on Saturday. When asked about the song change, she calls it “dramatic” but she’s happy with the ending. Albania will perform in the 2nd half of the Grand Final
A happy and excited band there. Head of delegation says Genealogy was a difficult project, but a worth one: the “made up” band has become a real family who represents the worldwide diaspora. The singer has to point out, once again, that the message is all about spreading peace and nothing else. Armenia will perform in the 1st half of the final
Polina is « crazy happy » and admitted she has cried since she felt more than welcome on stage by the audience. Her song is all about love, love as a single language, no matter who is loving who (a clear reference to the LGBT issue there). Russia will perform in the 2nd half of the final.
A happy and proud face! Voltaj singer is happy the message of his song has been heard. His answers are always focusing of his country’s problem which is underlined in the whole song. Romania will perform in the 2nd half of the final.
Boggie is more than happy. She admitted performing after Serbia was difficult. She relied on her backing vocalist to get courage before entering the stage, and has focused on the peace message of her song while singing. She believes that peace can be reached through music. Hungary will perform in the 2nd half of the final.
A surprised, happy and blessed singer! When asked by oikotimes.com in case of a Greek win, the country will definitely host the show. Greece will perform in the 2nd half of the final.
The Estonian duo is, of course, feeling great! Stig underlines the strong connection between is country and Finland (the two flags is having for press conference tonight). Estonia will perform in the 1st half.
Beautiful Nina is proud! For her, Georgia is a warriors’ land for many reasons. She didn’t feel alone on stage since many people (friends) were behind her. Georgia will perform in the 2nd half of the final.
Bojana is quite emotional. She was nervous before entering the stage and excited. Being in 9th position was a lucky charm for her. She congratulates Austria for the great show. Her collaboration with Marija Serrifovic (who is part of the delegation) was a great one. She was given tips by the 2007 winner. Serbia will perform in the 1st half of the final.
Young Loïc is quite shy after his powerful performance. He admits answering is more difficult than singing for him. The singer felt nervous because the competition was harsh, in his opinion. The singer focuses on the fact that he was singing for a united Belgium, and that has made him proud! Belgium will be in the 1st half of the final.
