MAY 07: DESP(INA)ERATELY WANTS TO BE REMEMBERED / VIDEO
Despina Olympiou represented the island of Aphrodite, Cyprus, in Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with the song “An Me Thimasai” (If You Remember Me). With the tuff times the island is going through unfortunately this entry will be easily forgotten.
WHAT WE LIKED
It is indeed a soft and safe ballad to perform in the Eurovision Song Contest. We also understand that it was a CyBC guideline to go as humble as possible as the island in in the turmoil of the economic crisis which lead two months ago to an almost total bankrupt of the island. The performance of Despina is simple and of course we all know she is a great vocalist!!! We love the dress though!!!
WHAT WE DISLIKED
The problem with the song is that it is totally outdated. It has nothing appealing for the international viewers and you remember nothing after that.
