MAY 06: TRANSPORTATION IMPROVES
COPENHAGEN, DENMARK – Transportation has been a big issue during this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen. DR and Host City Copenhagen tries to make the transport for the shows go as good as possible and here is an explanation of the best and easiest transport for Eurovision.
By public transport
Host City Copenhagen suggests that audiences take the public transportation to Eurovision Island and they have launched Event SMS-tickets you can buy with a Danish mobile number. You can also buy a ticket in the busses or a 10 rides card.
From Copenhagen Central Station or Christianshavn you can take the Eurovision bus 9A that goes directly to Eurovision Island in about 25 minutes. The busses have a Eurovision logo in front so you can easily recognize it.
There will be a lot of roads closed during Eurovision in Copenhagen around Christianshavns Torv and the Eurovision Island Refshaleøen is closed for private car driving. There will be no possibility to park your car at B&W Hallerne, but you can park at Gasværksgrunden, Amager Strandvej 5 three kilometers from Eurovision Island and from here you can take a shuttle bus to the arena for 24 Danish Kroner.
Host City Copenhagen wants audiences to come to B&W Hallerne early to get through security check and there will be an area in front of the arena where you can buy food and drinks before going to the shows.
