Birgit Õigemeel is the next Eurovision 2013 artist taking over the stage and rehearsing. Et Uus Saaks Alguse is the Estonian entry and here is what we made out of it. She may slipped on stage but she is confident she will avoid that in the future.
WHAT WE LIKED
She is certainly has one of the best voices in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 and she tries through simplicity to bring the sentiment of the song although in native language. She walks through the catwalk to the stage to perform and with some special dry ice effects it seems very unique
WHAT WE DISLIKED
Maybe too old fashioned the song is not going to appeal easily to the televoters although I can see the juries easily voting for it. The dress doesn’t look nice on the monitors and the stage looks at some points simple and boring although later one the blue turns into various colors giving much more attention to the song. Catwalks also need good catwalking and almost falling on stage doesn’t look nice.
INFORMATION ABOUT ESTONIA
Birgit Õigemeel is without doubt one of the happiest people in the world right now. Her life is full of love and great expectations: the challenge of performing in an international arena, settling in to her new home in Tallinn, and looking forward to the birth of her first baby. There could be no more exciting time for her to be taking part in Eurovision than now, when she and her partner Indrek Sarrap are expecting their first child. And she’s not alone – composer Mihkel Mattisen is about to become a parent for the first time, too!
