MAY 01: ROMANIANS READY TO STORM B&W
COPENHAGEN, DENMARK – Starting on April 30th, Romania enters the competition in Copenhagen, altogether with the other contestants of Eurovision 2014. Paula Seling & OVI, the Romanian artists who will be on B&W Hallerne stage on May 8th, take contact with the entire Eurovision atmosphere.
“Both Paula and Ovi are in good shape, eager to be on the stage and feel the entire energy explosion which this big event brings! They look forward to talk to the professionals in the viewing room and see the footage prepared for #TeamMiracle on the stage. We are also waiting the Meet & Greet moment with the international journalists and fans – we already have signals from some of them willing to meet the Romanian artists”, said Liana Stanciu, head of the Romanian delegation in Copenhagen, before their first rehearsal.
Paula Seling & OVI left Romania on Tuesday, the 29th of April, after meeting the Romanian press and fans, at the airport. The flight was quite adventouros for the delegation, but, after all, everything is well when it ends well…
The flight to Copenhagen passed through Amsterdam, for a stopover of an hour. Even from the airport in Bucharest – and after that, in the aircraft – the artists were approached by passengers, wishing them good luck and ensuring them of their entire support. Paula Seling & OVI signed autographs to the fans and even had a surprise from a teen-ager in the plane, who offered them two drawings with their portraits, sketched by herself. After landing in Amsterdam, OVI fullfilled a childhood dream, that of taking the pilot seat, right in the cabin of the aircraft.
Unfortunately, at the pass control point in Amsterdam, OVI noticed that… his passport was missing! As the plane from Bucharest was on the point to return to the country and the next one to take off shortly, there started a racing against the clock, with running, searching, phone calls and lots of emotions. Unfortunately, OVI’s passport couldn’t be found. Fortunately, the artist had a copy of his identity document upon him. Unfortunately, the delay prevented the Romanian delegation from getting to the boarding for Copenhagen in time. Fortunately, a technical problem of the aircraft which was to transport the delegation to Denmark called for replacing the plane – the exact needed time for the #TeamMiracle to reunite. The event made Liana Stanciu state that OVI „did magic”, while the artist said, naturally: „It’s a miracle…”. The adventurous flight ended well, finally, at midnight, for the Romanian delegation.
Paula Seling & OVI will be on the Eurovision stage in the second semifinal, on May 8th, entering the 15’th position in the contest.
