BELGRADE, SERBIA – On Wednesday night in Belgrade was premiered Marija Serifovic’s movie called Confession and oikotimes.com was there. In Serbian movies is called ISPOVEST. It consists eight chapters, and they are entitled Istina (Truth),Spasenje (Salvation), Pobeda (Victory), Oproštaj (Forgiveness), Vera (Faith), Energija (Energy), Sudbina (Fate),Tajna (Secret).
So as you can see every letter of the movie’s title represents one of the words above, though the chapters weren’t showed in that order. In the movie Marija talked about her Eurovision experience and how she was (not) supported until last minute. She also talked about her vices – gamble and alcoholism.
Now she doesn’t drink so much, because at one point it was so bad that her got some bad health issues, but she still like to play a round of cards. As she said, she inherited the gamble vice from her father. Marija said that she remembers that there were nights when he woke her up to throw money at her, but some nights he threw slaps at her face. Because of her father’s debts her mother, who is also a popular singer, much more at that time, had to work all day and all night just to pay people of for her husbands debts.
Marija also said that her Mother had nine miscarriages and that it was probably destined for not to have blood related brother or sister. But her father wasn’t lasy, as while her mother was in labors, her father was making his other, kid, her halfbrother, Danijel, that she is in great relations now, as they two run a singing school in Belgrade. When Marija was talking about her attributes, she mentioned that she is a very, very, stubborn person, but also that she is hardworking and persistent.
In the last chapter people could see several Q&As. And probably that was the part that everyone was waiting for, as there Marija gave answer to the biggest question of them all. She was asked Have you been with a girl? She responded Yes! It is amazing feeling to be with someone who doesn’t have a beard that will poke you.
But yesterday all press in Serbia, reported that she is a lesbian and that support came from all around. People who saw the movie will tell you that even they don’t know that, as she didn’t say it clearly. Also support did come. but there is also a lot of negative comments, as you all know that Serbian people aren’t very open minded towards same sex relations.
Also one of the biggest LGBT activists in Serbia, Predrag Azdejkovic reminded that Marija, back in 2009, stated that she loves men. He also said that he and his portal issued a certificate to Marija that she is straight oriented, but now he and the redaction question their decision, and they are thinking about it’s withdrawal. He also feels sorry that everyone is reading between lines (badly), but also that Marija is leaving Serbia because he thinks it would be better if she stays here.
