March 07 🇪🇺 begin your day with the latest #Eurovision headlines
🇬🇧 We begin with the final version of the UK 2018 entry in the Eurovision Song Contest as you can listen to above.
🇧🇬 Fan sites are thrilled to report that Bulgaria is going to reveal the Eurovision 2018 entry on March 12, an information we knew since early late December and reported already. But what they haven’t report is that one of the three potential candidates for Lisbon is actually Poli Genova again, according to exclusive oikotimes.com sources.
🇮🇸 No scandal says the Icelandic national broadcaster regarding the complaints for a potential voting failure in Söngvakeppnin’s final this year. There we’re complaints from people voting for Dogur’s entry but Vodafone, the company that handles the public voting the last few years in the country claim there was absolutely no problem. But they don’t rule out cases ike massive voting in the region of Laugardalshöll which might have been scrabbled with the radio disturbance. Söngvakeppnin’s winner though won by 5,000 votes-distance from the runner up giving a clear and undoubtedly fair win.
🇵🇹 RTP reports 912,000 viewers for the 2018 edition of Festival da Canção final. This makes an average market share of 22.1%, the highest rates of Festival da Canção since 2012. In total 1,245 million viewers watch the show with a peak of 2,61 millions watching at least one minute of the show. It was the 4th most watched program in Portugal.
🇸🇪 The Winter Olympic Games ended and SVT cannot justify the low TV rates for the Andra Chansen which we’re 2,6 million views (plus 32,000 viewers on SVT24). Andra Chansen was watched by less 266,000 viewers than last previous weeks but it is fair to say that Andra Chansen is the least watched show in the entire Melodifestivalen marathon. The #Melfest second chance show watched by -486,000 viewers compared to last year marking a low record since 2010.
🇨🇾 CyBC announced that Kostas Konstantinou and Vasso Komninou will be the commentators for Cyprus in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest this year. They are both journalists for the well respected newspaper Politis (Citizen). They are replacing Tasos Trifonos and Christiana Artemiou who were the commentators last year. They had replaced Melina Karageorgiou in the job who has been a commentator from 2008 to 2016.
🇳🇴 Back to Sweden actually (somehow) as NRK3 will join YLE Team Fem and broadcast the 2018 Melodifestivalen final. The broadcast though will be aired in delay on NRK3 from 22:25 to 00:25 CET.
🇧🇪 Hans Pannecoucke will be responsible for Sennek’s stage presentation in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. Hans Pannecoucke has previously been responsible for The Common Linnets stage presentation in the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest and the 2017 Spanish Eurovision entry. 🇭🇺 Speaking to 24.hu, Hungarian representatives in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest, AWS said that they will not be making changes to their song for Lisbon. AWS said “Basically we can not change the song, we will play in Hungarian exactly like in Hungary. Of course, we’re shaping the stage, but leaving the song untouched. That was our original idea, we do not want to meet an external, supposed or realistic expectation. We’re just glad we can be there and show so much to our music. Of course, we also want to create AWS concerts on the stage in Lisbon. We will try to perform the song with the same intensity as if we were at a live concert in a club.”
