Morden Kaiser from Denmark
I really cheered for Ira Losco during the MESC and I liked “Chameleon” a lot, so when I heard that they were considering changing the song, I was a bit worried that Ira would sing a new song that wasn’t as good, but when I heard “Walk on Water” my worries went away. This is a really good entry for Malta. Ira sings amazing as usual and this song is very special. You can clearly hear that Swedish Molly Pettersson Hammer co-wrote this, and that is not a bad thing. Now I’m looking forward to hear this song live and see the staging, because the song will not win for it self – it needs a great performance on stage, so I’ll cross my fingers for Ira and Malta!
Fotis Konstantopoulos from Greece
“Walk on water” is one of the best mid tempo songs participating this year. The strong melody, the good production and the great voice of Ira Losco has placed Malta as one of the strongest favourites to win the whole contest. The only problem that I see with this entry is that it is too radio friendly and that in a tv show with so many songs it can be lost. I still believe that “Chameleon”, with a better production, would work better on TV.
Jaime Solloso from Spain
This song replaces the one chosen that was not good enough apparently. This is a powerful pop song where Ira proves too things, she is good in front of a camera and also her voice needs to be continuously mixed or stopped sidetrack. A far better song that it’s predecesor, it plays on the constant stop and start effect of the key lines of the chorus. For me, this is actually what I dislike of the song. I much prefer a more fluid song where I’m not presented the same words with backing vocals on an echo beat. Can be a very good club song and will have it’s admirers but I don’t see anything amazing with the song if compared with former entries. Yes, Ira carries the song well, she may well be the reason to vote for Malta but this may be the only reason. A lot depends on the stage performance but it would need something very impressive.

I don’t know why jury likes Malta every year. This is only one small and weak country, which is favored.
