SPAIN – The 2019 Spanish PreParty concluded in La Riviera, Madrid and we had thee chance once again to see what we speculated since Amsterdam: most participants cannot deliver the songs live and many of them are overrated.
What can someone assume from the party is that Spain, its Eurofans, media and national broadcaster are united for the first time and they definitely proven to us they want to win eventually the contest and host aa unique party-time Eurovision edition soon. Not sure if Miki will make their dream true but if they keep working like that, soon the Iberian country will have the chance to rock the world.
Let’s begin with the event which was organised an hosted in an excellent way with a broadcast on YouTube similar of which we never experienced before as there was given a lot of care in the broadcast bandwidth, the lights and the simple but carefully worked camera work.
More than 5,000 people attended the final night and the night before. 150 media representatives will give the proper media boost to the participants. The participants themselves bonded with each other spending quality time during and out of the rehearsals and sound check schedule enjoying the Spanish capital.
Live performances though were 90% dreadful. Only few artists managed two deliver good vocals. There are two excuses usually: poor sound engineering for parties like this and saving voices and energy before Eurovision.
Both excuses are inexcusable: How some artists managed to slay with the same sound all 22 had? Why saving voice and energy when you are participating in a party in which you have to convince fans and media that you are a good entry to bid for the Eurovision win?
Of course no one understood what was the earning of having Imri Ziv singing playback! Anyway back to the participants who clearly enjoyed the well organised event no matter how they did on stage.
For us attending the event the the big fails were: Finland, Montenegro, Albania, Romania, San Marino
The slaying artists were: Lithuania, Israel, Croatia, Greece, Norway
We also enjoyed but there is no need to rate the special guests of the evening: Rosa López (Spain 2002), Lydia (Spain 1999), Betty Missiego (Spain 1979) and Suzy (Portugal 2014)
Below you can see our ratings for the performances tonight based only to vocal performances without liking or not the song, been a factor to our review rating. Of course we don’t except you to agree, it’s our view from experiencing the party. Also within this post we share some of the videos from the live performances. You can always have a a complete view by watching the show again or visiting our Instagram roll-out.
