LITHUANIA DECIDES 2013: ANDRIUS POJAVIS WINS
Vasil Dimitrov (Bulgaria)
Welcome to the national final of Lithuania. LRT airs the show through which the country will decide (via televoting and jury voting) upon their participation in the 2013 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Today oikotimes.com issued a review of the songs for tonight show and you can read them again here.
Božolė – Happy and free
The show started on time and the first entry appeared on stage. Light pink and black is the outfit colors and the song begins somehow bad but it is overall nice. Of course this is not the winner tonight.
Ieva & Gabrielius – I fall in love
Better than the opening song the mime seems to work fine for the two entrants who also attempted participation last year. The song is nice and catchy but still too weak for Eurovision I guess.
Gerai Gerai & Miss Sheep – War in the wardrobe
Well the vocal performance in this song is not the best but it seems to work fine on camera. The overall result seems a bit weird and I guess there are too much going for such a song on stage.
Linas Adomaitis – I w tonight
A breakdancer outside of the car as well and a police officer that has started breaking dance as well. Well this one is not bad and some consider it as a favourite. Not my taste anyway but it seems to been loved by the audience.
DAR – Jump
With pyros on stage the band give a very static performance. The song is a powerful dance act (powerful with the terms of what we have used to from Lithuania). But I dislike the microphone stands anyway.
Girmantė Vaitkutė – Time to shine
Classy performance with a classy dress for Girmantė. The performance is not bad. She is standing in front and has three backing vocals. Vocal performance can be said as OK but I am not satisfied personally. What I don’t like that much is the feathers in her hands revealed in the end of the song.
Monika Linkytė – Baby boy
Disqualified? she is not in the line up… weird
Andrius Pojavis – Something
Andrius is wearing tails and a top hat an the up tempo song seems kinda messy especially with this kind of stage presentation: a woman in white and two men in white masks and black outfits and bubbles airing on stage. Hmm weird and I’m not sure I love it or hate it.
Gerai Gerai & Miss Sheep, Andrius Pojavis and Girmantė Vaitkutė proceed to the superfinal. The results were like that: Andrius Pojavis, Gerai Gerai & Miss Sheep, Girmantė Vaitkutė, DAR, Ieva Zasimauskaitė & Gabrielius Vagelis, Božolė, Linas Adomaitis
Andrius born in Lithuania, Jurbarkas in 1983. Started to sing at young age. His first band at school was called No Hero. After moving to Vilnius he played with some other bands. With one of them, the Hetero, won EuroRock 2006. He sterted his career like songwriter in Irland were he lived for one year. Astuoni is his debut album. The album has 8 tracks that is a good representation of the artist style. Astuoni was recorder in Massive Arts, Milan, in 2012. Now Andrius is living on the bridge between Italy and Lithuania. His first single Traukiniai arrived in a good position in Lithuanian Top 20 and video is shown in National television. Andrius is organizing a band now and planning to do a tour around Lithuania next winter. He started also to write new songs for the next album.
