LIVE FROM VIENNA: EUROVISION 2015 FIRST SEMIFINAL
VIENNA, AUSTRIA – Good evening Europe. Good morning Australia. Welcome to the 60th Eurovision Song Contest. Tonight we will see from Wiener Stadthalle the performances from 16th countries and only 10 will qualify for the show on Saturday. Conchita is opening the show with her winning entry. She is also calling out participating countries to walk on stage. Tonight besides the 16 participating countries, Australia, Spain, France and Austria are voting as well.
First up tonight is Moldova. Eduard went up for a little racing on tractors. He has a three dancers and two backing vocals with him. There is also a metal construction for the dance. His team is dressed in sexy police uniforms so it should be rated PG. A bit of pyrotechnics and red & white lights. Worm applause it the end. Could he actually get throw?
Genealogy members had fun shooting their postcard in Prater amusement park. They all have special purple costumes. Smoke on the ground, ethnic animations. Their performance is finished with a lot of fire.
Loic from Belgium learned a dance act with the members of Volkstheatre. He is in a black suit, while his five backing vocals/dancers are totally in white. Easily they all could join PKN members on stage, at least for a dance. Huge applause for Loic.
04. THE NETHERLANDS
Trintije went up in the sky for a balloon ride in her postcard. At first her face is covers with black lice. She is in a decent black dress. I say decent as we saw her in swimming costume on her first rehearsal. She has four female backing vocalists dressed quite funny. She sounds good, but this far from what we had last year from the country of clogs.
PKN members, the representatives of Finland came to Vienna to have a ride on a Eurovision tram. Their entry is the shortest one in Eurovision history. It was more screaming that singing, but somehow, they also got round of a warm applause.
Conchita has changed her dress and now she is in a dark blue suit. She is in green talking with Loic and Trijntje. And its time for the performance of Greece.
Maria Elena is in a gorgeous silver sparkly dress. She only has a piano player with her on stage. Her voice sounds perfectly. Dark blue lights and sparks on screen. Crowd in the arena and press center really liked her performance.
We are alsmost have way done. Estonia is performing seventh and you could hear applauses from the first rhythms of the song. Male and female silhouettes are on the screen. Stig is in a suit Elina is wearing black shirts and pants. They are the favorites of this semi. Lets see if they go threw.
08. F.Y.R. MACEDONIA
Daniel Kajmakoski grew up in Vienna, so its like he’s on home ground. He has a white shirt, black pants and creamy coat. His backing vocalists are all the way from the United States. His vocal performance is good and of course there are autumn leaves on the screen.
It’s time for Bojana from Serbia. In her postcard she made a sheet with traditional motives. She’s in a sparkly silver dress. Backing vocals are in white coats and as song gets hire they dissrope in colorful costumes. Amazing ovations in the arena and the press centre.
Boggie became a firewoman for the purpose of her postacars. She is in a dark read dress and her five backing vocals are in dark blue and white outfits. Thus her song is a bit boring, it has a good message.
Uzari & Maimuna became movies stars in their postcard. There are heartbeat animations on the screen and smoke on the ground. Maimuna is in a white dress, while Uzari is in a dark blue suit. It looks like they have a lot fans in press center.
Polina is a huge star in Russia and she went to Tyrol to finish making a chrystal chandelier. She has a band with her on stage. Screen animations are in various colors representing the space. Polina is wearing a big beautiful white dress. Backing vocals are just making her performance even more better. Last year Russian act was getting booed and this year it’s one of the favourites.
We are now back in green room with Conchita, who is talking with Stig and Elina from Estonia. She is also talking with Bojana. Bojana also has Marija Serifovic as a support in her booth.
Our last year’s host country Denmark is performing 13th. Boys are just looking like this is one big party. Typical boy band performance. Nothing else. Two girls in red dresses are making their performance a bit more interesting. But with all the applauses I don’t think they will go the final.
Elhaida went from Albania to the Alps. She is in a black sparkly suit/dress. There are three backing vocalist with her. Golden animations on screen. She won the Voice of Italy for a reason. Her voice sounds so good, she is bringing so much emotions and top it all out with bit of wind.
Voltaj members horse raced in their postcard. Since 2008, this is the first song coming from Romania, sang in Romanian. They are all in black suits and they brought their video to the screen in the arena. They also have some suitcases on the stage. Beside Hungary I would say that they also have a boring entry.
And as a wake up call, the final act tonight is coming from Georgia. Nina has a lot of smokes and thunders on stage. She is in a dark dress with feathers on her shoulders. Animation is changed and we saw crying eyes. Excellent performance to finish the night.
so that’s it guys, stay tuned for the new post about the results…
