Live from Malta: Junior Eurovision 2014
VALLETTA, MALTA – Good evening EUROPE!!! Welcome to the Juniour Eurovision Song Contest 2014!!! A dance crew is up on stage as opening act. Also we see all the contestants introducing on stage.
And our host Moira Delia is on stage to welcome whole Europe. She is explaining us how to vote. Trophies will be awarded for top three countries and there will be only one winner.
Not just people from Europe are watching the show. Viewers from USA, Argentina, Costa Rica, New Zeland, Australia and many more will tune in also.
First up tonight is Belarus with Nadezhda Misyakova. She is singing the song Sokal (Falcon). Nadezhda is giving a perfect vocal performance. She is on stage with four dancers/backing vocals. Their costumes are just amazing. In the end crowd gives her a warm welcome.
Bulgaria is being represented by Krisia and Hasan & Ibrahim. Krisia is singing Planet of children just amazing. She is wearing a beautiful dress, while boys are in black and with outfits as their pianos. There is a big applause during the break. And a magic castle has appeared on the screens.
Small state of San Marino is performing third. Their second representative is a girl group The Peppermints with five members. Their song is called Breaking my heart. Girls are in white tops and skirts in different colors. Personally I’m not very impressed with this performance, but it seems that the crowd likes them.
Croatia won the very first edition of Junior Eurovision. They came back to Malta after seven years of absence. Josie’s song is called Game over. Crowd really liked her, but I have to say that she is not singing good. She is really struggling to do her best. She was wearing a red dress and had two boys dancing with her.
It’s time for first break. A dance group is performing act Neon Lights.
And Moira is back on stage. Now she is talking a bit about Malta. For example. It’s time for next four countries.
Cypriot representative is Sophia Patsalides. She is in all white outfit alone on stage and she is owning it. At first there was a thunderstorm on screens and now there is a beautiful sunset. I would like to see her in top three as she definitely deserves it.
Georgia sent Lizi Pop to Malta. Her song is called Happy Day and I will be free to compare it with Wrecking Ball. Lizi and her four dancers are giving a nice dance performance. And the firework waterfall is on. She was very enthusiastic.
First Julia of tonight’s show is coming from Sweden and she is singing Du är inte ensam, a beautiful dance pop song. Julia has the best welcome by crowd until now. She is in dark blue sparkly outfit, while her dancers are in light blue. A city at night is shown on screen during her performance.
We might not see Ukraine next Spring, but trio Sympho-Nick has brought it on stage in Malta. Girls are wearing adorable blue dresses. A mystical night sky is on screen. Unfortunately, I think that they won’t do well tonight.
It’s time for second break, as another four countries have performed thier songs. Now robots are performing cultural songs in a modern way.
Slovenia is debuting this year. Ula Lozar is the first representative with Nisi Sam/Your Light. Ula is looking so cute on stage in her white outfit. Even some were frightened that she won’t perform well, Ula is vocally performing amazing. She has a round of fireworks all around her. I think that she can get one of the three trophies.
Lejla & Masa are the first representatives of Montenegro. Budi dijete na jedan dan is their song. Girls are looking so happy on stage. They are now on different sides of stage. They are in black leather jackets and pink and yellow skirts. A nice debut performance for the Balkan state.
Another debut performance is now on stage. It is Italy with Vincenzo Cantiello and Tu primo grande amore. He is the only boy singing this year and his song is a beautiful Italian ballad. His suit is so adorable. Such an emotional performance.
Armenian representative is Betty with People of the Sun. She in on stage with five dancers and their performance is just amazing, AMAZING I tell ya. You can not imagine what are these kids doing. Jumping all around, swirling on curtains… This can win easily if you ask me.
And it’s time for another brake before the last four countries perform their songs.
Will number 13 prove as unlucky for Russia’s Alisa Kozhikina and her song Dreamer. I guess not. Alisa is another kid with a voice that many can dream of. White gown looks perfect on she sounds as good even being alone on stage.
Serbia is back at Junior Eurovision after three years with Emilija Djonin and Svet u mojim ocima. Emilija is also perfoming alone. At first she was playing the piano, but later she walked down the stage. Emilija was in black and white suit and she had red sparkles on screen. I have to say that I am very glad that my country is back at this contest.
Federica Falzon is representing her homecountry. She is performing her song Diamonds on a pedestal. Her beautiful opera voice is rocking the stage and it is not surprising that she is the main favorite for the win. Are we gonna come back to Malta next year? It seem so…
The last performance of night is coming from the Netherlands and Julia. Her song Around is bringing everyone in the hall up to jump. She has five male dancers with her and even though having a little stage fright she is performing very well, but comparing to many better songs from tonight, she can’t enter the race for any of three trophies.
So this was it Europe. All the participating countries have performed. Now the voting will start and last for 15 minutes. Of course you can not vote for your own country. If your country isn’t participating you can vote for your favorite country on junioreurovision.tv
Let the best song win!!!
As interval act, now all the contestants are performing the theme song of this year’s competition – Together.
While the votes are being counted Gaia is on stage performing new version of her winning song The start and also a new one – Children of the Universe.
