LIVE FROM KYIV: JUNIOR EUROVISION 2013
KYIV, UKRAINE – Good evening Europe, this is Kyiv calling. I am Stefan Resimic (Serbia) and for the next two hours you will read my view on the show. Remember you can also watch the show online at www.junioreurovision.tv at 19:00 CET. Malta is suppose to be the favourite tonight according to our Junior Europrediction which received more than 22,000 votes! So let the show begin!
Sweden – Eliias – Det är dit vi ska
At first Eliias looked and sounded like he is stage frightened, but he got better. It seems that the crowd likes him as they clapped during whole song.
Azerbaijan – Rustam Karimov – Me and my guitar
Young Rustam looks really good on stage. He has some good dance moves. Vocally he was better than Eliias. He was wearing neon blue vest and pink pants.
Armenia – Monica – Choco Factory
It’s time for probably the most sweetest performance of night. Monica and her dancers have special outfits. There are also some requisites on stage. Pyrotechnics were included in performance. Monica also played he violin.
San Marino – Michele Perniola – O-o-O Sole intorno a me
It was just matter of time when will see San Marino here. With the first rhythms everyone inside the hall was singing with Michele. As everyone expected he is wearing his glittery gold jacket. Untill now he sounded the best.
FYR Macedonia – Barbara Popović – Ohrid i Muzika
Barbara’s song is so catchy, but i have a deja vu feeling that I’ve already heard it somewhere. She is trying to give her best, but unfortunately she doesn’t sound so good, but she and her dancers have some good energy what can be seen in their performance.
Ukraine – Sofia Tarasova – We are one
Before she started to sing, everybody was cheering SOFIA,SOFIA,SOFIA. She maybe doesn’t have dancers on stage, but with her voice she doesn’t need them. Sofia was really confident in her and there was no stage fright. With flowers in here she was just amazing.
Belarus – Ilya Volkov – Poy so Mnoy
While listening to the first seconds of this songs I had feeling that it’s Turkish entry. Anyway, sparks are all over the stage. They are all dressed like rebels, they danced that way. Ilya sounded very well, so they got good chances, even with their postcard getting cut off.
Moldova – Rafael Bobeica – Cum să fim
This boy is just amazing. So young, so great voice. Vocally so perfect. I would like to see him make a song with Cezar or Malena Ernman. I believe that jury liked his performance the best. Rafael remindeds us that this is a SONG contest. Well done!
Georgia – The Smile Shop – Give your smile
Junior Eurovision just went retro. There is six of them on stage, two boys and four girls. Separately they sound good, but with all their voices mixed up it is just not the thing. In my opinion it is a candidate for last place.
The Netherlands – Mylène & Rosanne – Double me
We are back in school. Mylène and Rosanne have some lockers on stage. They are dressed like cheerleaders. One more energetic, confident performance. They are having so much fun on stage, also it seems that the public in the hall likes them also.
Malta – Gaia Cauchi – The Start
There is a good reason she won our poll. Gaia’s voice is just perfect and many other singers with much more experience can envy her. In her white dress with her voice nothing else was needed on stage. Just think if now she sounds like, how will she sound in few years.
Russia – Dayana Kirillova – Dream On
No it is not Aerosmith’s song and it is nowhere near it. Dayana did sound good, but comparing to previous performance she sounds bad. She had a boat on stage, and when you have a boat you also got to have some sailors. If she didn’t perform after Malta, I believe that everyone would be more charmed with performance.
So we heard all the songs that compete tonight and our hosts invited everyone to start voting
First up tonight is our winner from Malmö, Emmelie de Forest. I can not tell if she is singing live, but there is a lot people on stage with her, also one little boy was playing the flute.
Now there is another round of postcards where the contestants are saying what would they like to be in 10 years.
They are all on stage singing the anthem of this year’s contest.
One last recap of all performances before the lines get closed.
Anastasya Petryk is now on stage, performing her winning entry from last year, Nebo.
She is also singing a new song.
Another interval act is on stage and it is in tribal style. Our female host Zlata is with them. Lot of children just joined them on stage and they are singing like choir.
She also sang her Eurovision entry, Gravity.
And we have our winner.
It is Gaia and Malta.
We will see Gaia perform on Eurovision stage next year in Denmark.
Top three looks like this :
Once again are poll result showed true.
Thank you for following our report tonight.
Enjoy the rest of the evening.
