Live from Hanover: Germany Decides 2015
HANOVER, GERMANY – Welcome to another live report of oikotimes.com as tonight we will get to know the act which will represent Germany in the 60th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. There are eight acts performing tonight 7 chosen by NDR and one by wildcard selection. Four acts will proceed to the second round and two will proceed to the super final.
HOW TO WATCH
The show begins with Conchita Wurst’s appearance on stage performing the awesome winner song “Rise like a phoenix”. Barbara Schöneberger enters the stage and gets a birthday song from Conchita as it’s her birthday today.
Mrs. Greenbird – Shine Shine Shine / Take My Hands: an odd performance with good vocals (sometimes annoying) but overall a good opening for the show. there seems to remind me the Dutch entry last year without the sparkle.
Alexa Feser – Glück / Das Gold von Morgen: an atmospheric performance with mid tempo tune which you can easily like but not sure it’s strong enough to do something in Vienna. Vocal performance not at its best.
Faun – Hörst Du Die Trommeln / Abschied: in this one there seems to be a clear confusion between the vocals and of course almost nothing to do with the studio version of the song. Reminder of Middle Ages sounds? hmm not sure it’s succeeding it or if it’s needed as well.
Noize Generation – A Song For You / Crazy Now: a definitely Calvin Harris tune with great vocals and a sentiment that commercially this could easily work for Germany in and outside Eurovision. Huge reaction from the audience and we surely gonna see them in the next phase.
Ann Sophie – Jump The Gun / Black Smoke: she came from the wildcard selection, the song is growing in the opinions of the fans during the past few days and he overall result is very impressive. She can be the 2015 Lena for Germany.
Fahrenhaidt – Frozen Silence / Mother Earth: an athmospheric, nature type song which can really be an artistic entry for Eurovision bid of Germany. The vocals though are not strong enough in my opinion and the ballet girls maybe not fitting exactly in the stage presentation.
Laing – Zeig Deine Muskeln / Wechselt Die Beleuchtung: although a pure 80s sound song, I think it is strong enough even to represent Germany. The tune is certainly a catchy tune
Andreas Kümmert – Home Is In My Hands / Heart Of Stone: the singer looks might not work for him but the tune is definitely interesting. This acoustic ballad is good but the vocals are mediocre. Not a bad performance but not strong enough to see it to the next round.
We go to the Green Room and chat with the participants while the voting takes place. There is also a video explaining that Guy Sebastian will represent Australia in the 60th Eurovision Song Contest. We have the four qualifiers: Alexa, Andreas, Laing and Ann Sophie.
Alexa Feser – Das Gold von Morgen: is a melodic piano ballad which definitely can be the winner tonight, but it could be a false choice as many ballads already selected for Eurovision this year.
Ann Sophie – BLack Smoke: definitely a better choice with better vocals and guess what: it can go to Vienna! I can definitely see it to the super final.
Laing – Wechselt Die Beleuchtung: electro and dub step sound for this one and it seems that we could have a surprise for Vienna. Definitely hyped tune for an audience like Eurovision.
Andreas Kümmert – Heart Of Stone: strong vocal performance a bit more uptempo than his first song and this entry can be a hot winner tonight.
Stefanie Heinzmann is the interval act in this part of the show as we wait for the two super finalists. The lines are open and we have double recap for the four acts.
TO THE SUPER FINAL
ANDREAS KÜMMERT – HEART OF STONE
ANN SOPHIE – BLACK SMOKE
