Enkel Demi and Klea Huta are hosting the top music festival of the country and as they announced the show is aired also in FYR Macedonia and Kosovo. The co hostess looks amazing and stunning while the stage looks exactly what someone expects from a grand music festival: amazing.
THE BEST SONGS
Hersiana Matmuja – Zemërimi i një natë
You can not easily describe it but it’s a nice opening for the contest with an artist who received great applause in the opening by the audience. Perfect vocal performance and very very interesting tune although the intro of the song sounded somehow ethnic. This ballad is almost artistic for me. Well done.
Besiana Mehmeti & Shkodran Tolaj – Jam larg
One more operatic ballad with two artists on stage reminding me slightly the 2002 Romania entry. Once again perfect vocal performance and another interesting ballad tune for me. Could it work for Albania in Eurovision, somehow it sounds like a Eurosong. Well done again!
Luiz Ejlli – Kthehu
Former Eurovision participant and quite good in vocals Luiz is giving another good performance of a ballad song which although is nice and interesting is not as strong as expected at least for a former participant who wants to win the ticket to Eurovision. Quite sentimental though and indeed a good performance and song production.
Blerina Braka – Mikja ime
Guitar ballad with rock elements. Not a bad song but a song that will go without any meaning in Eurovision. Nevertheless for the lovers of good music I would suggest this one especially due to the vocals of the singer.
Xhejsi Jorgaqi – Ëndërrat janë ëndërra
We really needed something to wake us up. No I am not sleeping or bored with ballads but honestly I had too many for tonight. This one is a very interesting tune (the least bad amongst worst) and I have some hope for it if I see it on a Eurovision stage.
Lynx – Princesha
Electro rock song from Albania. Well not bad for sure but not the best solution for the country’s hopes in Eurovision on the other hand. Fire props are used for this entry making it an oasis to what we have seen so far.
Sajmir Braho – Grua
An atmospheric tune with a vocal performance which is not quite understood. The flavour in the end is that it can work out in a way during Eurovision 2014 but surely it needs better production.
Rezarta Smaja – Në zemër
Promising, interesting and I think one of the best entries tonight. The solo guitar act is all the money on this act.
Edmond Mancaku & Entela Zhula – Vetëm për ty
I think the favourites are again closely to the end and I won’t be surprised if this one wins. You will remember the song no matter whether you like it or hate it. The combination of electric guitar with the violin is enough for me to like this one.
THE WORST SONGS
Frederik Ndoci – Një ditë shprese
From 2006 to 2007 Eurovision entrant and Frederik performs another ballad. I am starting to get tired and bored with all these ballads but I have to admit it’s a nice although totally outdated song. Nothing wrong with this type of songs but truly do you think this can score anything in a Eurovision of the 2010’s? This is the only reason why I consider it one of the worst songs.
Grupi NA – Jehona
Old fashioned although artistic enough to be a festival song but definitely not good enough to represent the country in Eurovision this year.
Klodian Kaçani – Me ty
The song is nothing special, totally indifferent but the vocal performance is very powerful. Now how to judge this. Maybe under a new production this one could do something in the Eurovision 2014 (like qualifying to the final only) but still there’s something wrong with the tune. Great applause though!
Venera Lumani & Lindi Islami – Natë e parë
Very nice ballad and very nice vocal performance. Though I cannot see it to the Eurovision stage but the audience seems to disagree with me and give them a great reception. A song that really cannot judge as bad or good but under my strict personal taste I wouldn’t chose it.
Xhejn & Enxhi Kumrija – Kur qielli qan
Totally indifferent although some Albanians might like the ethic touch in the song. Not impressed by the vocals and I truly cannot see this one winning tonight.
Marjeta Billo – Ti mungon
Powerful vocals and a strong song on it’s own way. What does this mean? That this song can easily win inside Albania and it will be totally understandable but it will do nothing in Copenhagen.
Renis Gjoka – Mjegulla
Sorry but I almost got to sleep with this electro guitar and the Albanian mushroom lyrics. Honestly do they listen to any international radio this days in Albania?
