LITHUANIA – The final version of “Run with the Lions,” a song that will represent Lithuania in the #Eurovision Song Contest 2019, has just been released. The song has undergone changes in both composition and vocals.
Jurijus traveled to Switzerland in early March to meet with songwriters Ashley Hicklin, Eric Lumiere and Pele Loriano. The singer said in an interview with LRT that they were listening to the song together and making the changes.
“They are high-level professionals – we were talking before each recording, every word of the song – what it means to convey the emotion. It is important for them how the artist feels. It’s no secret that everything costs, nothing is free, but money is a third or fourth thing. It is more important for them how the artist feels as he sings. We have looked at what can be improved. You can really expect a new sound. We re-made the middle part of the song and will be much stronger. People have a lot to say about us. Although they tell me not to read the comments, I still read them. People in comments and viewers said the song has no progress, so we talked to the songwriters about what else we can do. “
In their statements the composers of the song “Run With The Lions” have stated that Jurij Veklenko could win the contest. Specifically, Ashley Hicklin said:
“Jurij may become the first Lithuanian winner of this contest with this song – we believe in him too much. I am absolutely convinced that people all over the world will not only love his voice, but all that is related to him. ”
