Donny is back! I really didn’t like his previous entry but “I’ve Been Waiting For This Night” is quite different. More popish, more radio-friendly, this song should please more than a viewer. Nevertheless, the entry lacks that “little something” to stand out since it is not that original. Once again, the staging will make a difference. Donny should get shirtless to be remembered…
Andreas Athanasiou from Greece
Back in 2012 I remember watching Donny with his entry all blindfolded and his little dance thing… I hate it to this day! But this time around he changed things up offering something more current more modern and I am sure it will be nice to watch. On the other hand 2016 is a year filled with strong pop entries and i don’t feel that Lithuania has the potential to stand out this year or even maybe qualify to the final. Good luck, you’ll need it.
Fred Medeiros from United Kingdom
Welcome back to Donny Montell from Lithuania. He performed in the 2012 contest in Baku and finished 14th with Love is Blind. Actually this was Lithuania’s best placing since 2006. Montell’s handsome face and amazing voice has won him several competitions in his homeland. Wanting to better his previous entry Montell entered the extremely long and confusing LRT selection process and won his chance to compete again for his country but this time with a very different style of song. I’ve Been Waiting for This Night is a mid tempo commercial sounding pop offering. I actually prefer this song to his previous entry but what his previous entry had was a point of difference. I believe the song will qualify for the final but his placing will depend on the presentation. True Montell has a strong voice but if turns into another concert style performance he will struggle to reach the Top 10.
