CROATIA 🇭🇷 Let’s start our daily headlines round up with the new release by Severina. The 2006 Croatian representative released her brand new song titled Unaprijed Gotovo featuring the famous artist Petar Grašo.
CYPRUS 🇨🇾 Cypriot national broadcaster confirmed that they are not participating in the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Minsk. There is no official reason given why the. broadcaster is not going to join the JESC party this year but it seems that the last two poor results of the country have discouraged the broadcaster from participating again.
GREECE 🇬🇷 Demy will participate on behalf of Greece in the 2018 edition of New Wave Festival which will take place between 4th and 9th of September in Sochi, Russia. The show will be aired by Epsilon TV in Greece and Demy will compete with a new song by Dimitris Kontopoulos. The preliminary audition took place on April 14th with 9,000 applicants eager to participate in one of the most prestigious events in Eastern Europe. DoReDos were one of the three winners in that festival last year.
ITALY 🇮🇹 Fabrizio Moro, representative of Italy at the Eurovision 2018 Festival, recalled his participation in Lisbon: “Although it was a song in Italian, we realized that the message reached all people.” Asked about the experience in Lisbon, Fabrizio Moro says he will never forget his participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018: “The Eurovision Song Contest was filled with strong emotions. SPAIN 🇪🇸 In a recent interview 2002 participant Rosa López said that she was disappointed by the result of the Spanish entry this year but according to her the result had nothing to do with the performance of Amaia and Alfred. She insists that Spain should not fell into the trap of seeing Eurovision as a competition and sustain the quality of the country’s entries in Eurovision, giving the example of Salvador Sobral. In the meantime in a recent interview in Spain the 2018 Cypriot entrant Eleni Foureira said that Lo Malo should have been the song to represent the country in the Eurovision Song Contest.
SWEDEN 🇸🇪 ABBA are in the studio recording there brand new / re-union song which is due to be released around the end of 2018. One of the two new tracks will be titled I Still Have Faith In You and will be performed by the virtual ABBA in the end-of-year television special.
