After the second continuous elimination of Armenia from the Grand Final and the third in the history of the Contest, the country’s public channel, AMPTV, seems to reintroduce Depi Evrasil to choose its representative in Eurovision 2020. In a publication of the Depi Evratesil 2020 page, the Armenian delegation states:
“We are expecting the next version on Channel 1. Therefore, everything seems to rescue the situation created over the past two years, as well as the internal selection of Srbuk and Walking Out, which the Armenians did not give much joy.”
After Michela’s victory at X Factor Malta, PBS received several songs for the singer to perform at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. “Chameleon” was chosen, but the Malta press revealed an excerpt from one of the models that was in dispute by the European passport. The song, titled “Colors”, is part of the Symphonix songs, the team responsible for the nominations of Malta and Azerbaijan in Tel Aviv, and in the words of the young singer, the rejected song may be part of her debut album as well other of the songs that were weighted for international competition. However, this is not the first time that “Colors” has been in the race for the Eurovision Festival. In 2018, the team submitted the theme to the Bulgarian national team for the competition based in Lisbon. Although it has never been confirmed by the station or the artist, the model will have been submitted with the voice of Poli Genova, singer who represented Bulgaria in 2011 and 2016.
Following their stint as the host country for 2019, Israel now give up their privileges and will return to the semi finals once again for the 2020 contest. Following a disappointing finish for their host entry, “Home”, similar to many host entries before it, the Israeli delegation will be looking to improve their result for next year. To achieve this, they are planning to hold a selection show for the song as well as the artist.
