Despite fans, Eurostars and some politicians’ efforts to bring the country back in the Eurovision Song Contest, RTL officially confirmed that the country will not participate in the 2020 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest which will take place in neighbour Holland.
SWEDEN 🇸🇪
A few weeks after releasing his new single “Costa Rica”, it has been revealed that Sweden’s Benjamin Ingrosso has composed a track for K-Pop group NCT Dream. The song will be part of a new album from this group which is due to be released on 29 July.
SERBIA 🇷🇸
Serbian broadcaster RTS has confirmed they will take part in next year’s Eurovision Song Contest in The Netherlands. The method in which they will use to select their entrant has not yet been revealed, however for the 2019 contest they used their national final Beovizija.
EUROVISION 2020 🇳🇱
NPO has confirmed that additional visits are to be made to Maastricht and Rotterdam, as part of the host city selection process. The team that will determine the host city of Eurovision 2020 are to make additional technical working visits to Maastricht and Rotterdam. The two cities have already received one visit each from the team since being shortlisted two weeks ago. The next visits are to gain further detail and have more discussion regarding the logistics of the production of the Eurovision Song Contest. The dates of the visits to either city have not been revealed by NPO.

Eurovision fans in the UK and USA may have had a pleasant surprise this week, when this year’s winning entry ‘Arcade’ featured on ‘Love Island’, the Reality TV phenomenon taking the globe by storm.
EUROVISION 2019 🇮🇱
Just two and a half months ago, Israel’s national broadcaster KAN hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv. Now, they have received their first award for the shows – it’s a Booster award for their accessibility project and broadcasting of the shows with sign language interpretation as well as audio description!

Inger Berggren who represented Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 1962 has died at the age of 85.
