JESC 2018 🇧🇾 our review for the 20 hopefuls
Vasil Dimitrov (Bulgaria)
On the 25th of November, the 2018 edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Belarus’ capital Minsk. Twenty countries will participate.
Here is our review of the song while you can vote for the event as of now both in the official website and on our Europrediction section.
Darina is delivering the song perfectly and the tune is modern with ethnic touch at the same time without becoming folklore. But she is maybe too aggressive on camera, especially with hr facial expression that might not attract votes.
Nice concept, visual effects on camera ad a soft, safe pop song in Portuguese mood. But Rita’s voice is not convincing for me.
A Disney song with a Rybak-Fairytale presentation on stage reminding us Lion King and Pocahontas. Excellent vocal performance and an. Adorable Daneliya.
Efi is not conniving me at all neither by her outfit nor by her voice. She is singing her message that she is not a Barbie and she deserves better but didn’t convince at all
Anna and her band not only delivered the song perfectly but this song could easily be a senior Eurovision entry. Russia wants to host next year, and they can easily win…. Again!
Max and Anne are delivering their ballad in excellent way. But this song sounds like a love relationship soundtrack from a movie which actually Maes us wonder what could those two kids know about it.
Somehow indifferent. It’s like the idea of Aisel in Lisbon transferred to Minsk. Unfortunately Fidan’s voice is not convincing me as well.
Daniel is having a somehow interesting song – a safe song which can make the host country audience proud for hosting the event. Impossible to win again though although Daniel sounds (in the recipe footage, at least) somehow unstable in vocal terms.
Interesting song, interesting performance and somehow this time Ireland is attracting my attention. Not sure I would vote for it, but this song and Taylor (the performing) have something here.
Someone copied Gaia Cauchi. Interesting vocal performance but something lacks here, something that could boost this song.
Melissa and Marco are giving an outstanding vocal performance and the song could be a winning tune on 25/11. The only negative thing is the awful graphics used for this entry.
Excellent performance from Jael, a singer who could have been mistaken for a professional artist if you just hear her voice. I wouldn’t be surprised if Australia wins.
Final something modern, different and actually worth of winning from Georgia. Totally wrong choice of outfit as she resembles like an old lady rather than a kid but her songs and performance are excellent.
Totally Hebrew tune, something which might bore the European audience. But somehow Noam, the singer, has such. Velvet voice and great skills to use it, that makes me confident that Israel could at least be a top five this year.
Interesting entry and modern. Angelina is using her big asset which is her wonderful and dazzling eyes. I am not sure the vocal performance is great but the colour of her voice is what the contest is all about: kids!
FORMER YUGOSLAV REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA
Marija is performing well but she is seeking something on the side of the stage. The song has good vocal performance but not a tune that can attract the audience.
L.E.V.O.N is confident acts like a star and uses his trumpet as a highlight of his song, a memorable move, for sure. It’s the kind of song that can win the whole thing and everyone wonder “what happened?”
An indifferent song with a no-sense stage choreography.
What a voice, what a performance. Ela is simply perfect.
Roksana is a good singer and looks great on camera. Now the song has one major fault. It’s not for her age. It’s for a signer on the age and level of Pink. But it’s a good bid. Not a winner though.
