JESC 2015: Veronica Rotin to represent Malta?
VALLETTA, MALTA – The ecstasy for the successful organisation and recent results in Junior Eurovision Song Contest has lead Malta into a frantic marathon over who’s going to succeed the high levelled performance of Gaia and Federica in Malta. While Malta has left open doors for potential hosting of the event again, in case Bulgaria turns down the offer by EBU, the island is already giving signs on who should represent the island of the knights in 2015 edition.
Veronica Rotin is considered a high possibility to represent the country in the 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest and for some, there are strong arguments why she deserves to be selected internally:
Veronica has already competed in many important singing competitions. In 2013, aged only 9 years, she made it to the finals of the Italian TV talent show “Io Canto” (“I Sing”), the following year she entered the World Festival Association’s (WAF) XI International contest for young talents Lake Pearls, held in FYR Macedonia, in which she not only won her category but was also awarded the Grand Prix for the whole event and has been invited to perform at next summer’s WAF event in Russia, and later that same year she made the final of the Romanian TV talent show “Next Star”.
Veronica is also a regular on Maltese TV, singing on various shows and charity marathons. She also regularly takes part in live concerts. JESC is an unusual talent competition in that it requires contestants to perform in front of a large live audience and also to impress a TV voting audience, Veronica has had extensive experience performing in both types of events.
When Veronica appeared as a solo singer during the interval of the 2014 JESC she gained experience before a JESC audience. Let’s all have a glimpse of what the next Maltese wonder girl can do on stage! (and notice while she sings Celin Dion’s song, how her smile is just like hers!)
