JESC 2015: Bulgaria or Malta to host the show?
Vasil Dimitrov (Bulgaria)
GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – Italy is officially out as oikotimes.com first announced. RAI officially declined the offer slamming the door to EBU. We all got high hopes that we might even enjoy Rome for a Eurovision event but it’s clear that Italy is not going to spend money on a show that barely makes 3 million viewers throughout Europe.
EBU though is happy if we believe Vlad Yakovlev’s statement: “Unfortunately they are not in a position to hold the competition in Italy, but we thank them immensely for looking into the possibility of hosting. That an organisation such as RAI would explore all possibilities to host Junior Eurovision, despite only having taken part once, shows that Junior Eurovision is heading in the right direction”.
By the end of January we will know if we go to Sofia, Bulgaria or back to Malta for the 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Yes, the two countries bidding for the hosting of the show according to secure sources are Malta and Bulgaria. For most of us Bulagria is deserved host as we all wanted Krisia to win instead of Italy (comparing those two, as we all had different favourites this year).
“This is a unique chance for BNT and Bulgaria, for us to be the host of one of the most prestigious music competitions in Europe. Krisiya, Hassan and Ibrahim proved that when we are united, success is possible,” BNT quoted its director-general, Vyara Ankova. (source: the Sofia Globe)
