Simone de Oliveira who represented Portugal in 1965 and 1969 this week remembered her collegaue Madalena Iglésias, who also represented Portugal at Eurovision in 1966 and who sadly passed away. Simone referred to the moment as “a sad day” and she didn’t expect such a moment to occur given how we all believe that we are eternal. Saddened and affected, Simone remembered that the last time the two had been together was at the celebration for her 50th career anniversary and a time to remember the amazing rivalry they shared in the 1960s., although they had a mutual respect for each other. Madalena retired from the stage when she married, dedicating her life to family and spare time.
