ITALY – Next month, while the National Final will go full swing, a gem of a show will take place for the 68th time, this is of course the more than famous Festival della Canzone Italiana di Sanremo, from which the next Italian representative will be chosen. Yesterday RAI held a press conference to give more details about the next edition. We already knew the great line-up, but now, with the introduction of the hosts and the guests, we can expect a lot from the small Italian Riviera city. Italian superstar and brand new artistic director of the show Claudio Baglioni will of course be the main host of the 5 shows, and he chose beautiful actressand TV presenter Michelle Hunizker to be is counterpart on stage. The Swiss-Italian model (and former wife of Eros Ramazotti) is no stranger to the exercise since she already was a hostess of the festival, back in 2007. Sanremo would not be Sanremo without its national and international guests. Even if the full list was not revealed yet, RAI anounced that this year’s central guests will be no other than Laura Pausini, Sting and Liam Gallagher. RAI also confirmed that the winner of the festival will be proposed to wave the Italian flag in Lisbon. In case of a refusal (like it happened back in 2016), RAI will chose itself its representative amongst the other finalist, no matter their placing on the scoreboard. Once again, we can expect 5 glamorous, entertaining and quality shows, live from the City of Flowers, from February 6th to 10th!
SPAIN – Operación Triunfo is gearing up as on January 29th we will know the artist(s) who will represent the country in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest and the love affair of two participants seems to be the talk-of-the-town. Alfred and Amaia have come close enough to sparkle love between them. But it seems that are so much in love as they declared they want to go to Eurovision together as a duo. They will perform a jazz song with Amaia playing the piano and Alfred playing trombone. It will be very interesting to see the outcome of this.
