Special prizes will also be awarded in A Dal 2016. The title of “Best Newcomer of A Dal” will be given out by the on-screen jury and “Best Lyrics” will be awarded by combining the votes of the jury and the online votes of the viewers. The popular “A Dal Acoustic” competition returns this year as well. Here the contestants are given the opportunity to perform an acoustic version of their song and the public will choose the winner by online voting. There is a new prize for viewers with music production skills: the “Best Remix” competition encourages viewers to remix this year’s songs. The best remix will be chosen by Radio Petőfi’s panel of professionals.
The songs will be judged by four jury members (Zséda, Pierrot, Károly Frenreisz and Miklós Both) and the viewers will once again take on the responsibility of the fifth jury member via voting through the app, website or text messages, which gives the audience an even greater influence on the outcome of the competition. Apart from the new jury members and the new special prizes A Dal 2016 will bring several changes to the voting process. Televoting via the mobile app will be free of charge and viewers will be able to vote via the official A Dal homepage during the live broadcasts for the first time on Hungarian television. Traditional text message based televoting will also remain for the viewing public to vote for their favourites.
The A Dal 2016 mobile application is already available for Android, iOS and Windows Phone in their respective app-stores. Users who already have the previous version should download the latest update. New users will need to register before they are able to cast their votes, which they are encouraged to do before the beginning of the first live show.
The first heat of A Dal 2016 will be broadcast live on 23 January 2016 at 19:40 (GMT+1) on Duna and Duna World with Csilla Tatár and Levente Harsányi resuming their duties as hosts of the programme.
