SAN MARINO – Not even the state television and Head of Delegation was informed how the San Marino tele voting was given. Yes, for the first time San Marino delivered tele voting to the Eurovision Song Contest.
Well not exactly. Pre-selected countries decided by the Reference Group gave their votes on San Marino’s behalf in order to have a balance in the show’s voting procedure said the EBU but denied to reveal more information about those countries as it would have disturb the integrity of the show as Paul Jordan said to oikotimes.com recently.
So the people of San Marino cannot know who voted for them and we (the Europeans) are all proud to have a voting set of scores given from someone else in the name of another country.
OK, it’s just one country but what if there were problems with 4-5 other countries’ tele voting? Would we be proud to have a Eurovision Song Contest full of fake votes? This is seriously something that EBU must re consider! Still we are all surprised how San Marino state television accepted this change!
