HORSENS & HERNING ANNOYED BY DR DECISION
The announcement of Copenhagen as the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 brought big joy to the Eurofans and obviously to the EBU but it seems that this wasn’t the case for the bidding cities!
Originally 8 bids 3 left in the final run for the hosting of Eurovision 2014. Horsens and Herning lost the chance to host the event and they are not happy about it.
We are obviously annoyed that DR didn’t chose Horsens, said the city’s mayor, Peter Sorensen. But we respect DR’s decision and would like to congratulate Copenhagen.
Horsens plans to use the old prison as a venue for events and they are eager to work on it. The next time Denmark wins Eurovision Song Contest they will practically demand the hosting!
Personally, I am annoyed, said Mette Bock of the Danish Liberal Alliance regarding Herning’s bid. I had hoped for a venue outside Copenhagen. The last two times Denmark won Eurovision, the contest was held in Copenhagen. Maybe it was time to get out of the capital.
Jørgen Arbo – Bæhr of the country’s Red-Green Alliance party said that B&W is not a suitable venue and along with traffic there will be problems for the Eurovision event having in mind that there is still an unfinished subway connection.
It’s Copenhagenry of the worst kind, said Marc Perera Christensen, Alderman for Culture and Citizens’ Services. He blaims DR for been totally biased over the capital and ignored public request to host the contest in his city. He even suggested DR to be named into CR (Copenhagen Radio).
It happens to the best of families as well I guess!
