STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – On February 7th, the biggest national selection show, Swedish “Melodifestivalen” will start. For the 2015 edition, the show will once again tour the kingdom, from Göteborg, Malmö, Örebrö or Helsingborg to Stockholm. In each of these host cities, the audience will experience an incredible show, hosted by Robin Paulsson and Sanna Nielsen.
Today, SVT has revealed the design of the festival’s stage. It is the creation of Frida Arvidsson and Viktor Brattström. With impressive dimensions of 24 metres by 21 meters, it will be the largest Melodifestivalen stage ever. The main idea behind the project is “light”: LED walls, an illuminated floor connecting the artists to the crowd, and 40 semi-transparent tubes will give an incredible effect (like a simpler version of Vienna’s project and its tenth of LED tubes).
For once, during semi-finals, the greenroom will be next to the stage, on order to create movement.
For the final, in Stockholm Friends Arena, the setting may be slightly larger. This year’s stage will hence be innovating, fun and just extraordinary. We can expect a great edition of Melodifestivalen this year, and the Oikoteam will be there to share the moment with you.
AALBORG, DENMARK – Neighbour Denmark is also getting ready for its “Melodi Grand Prix” to be held on February 7th in Aalborg. Over there, the stage will also be original since it will be circular shaped (17 metres in diameter). Designer Claus Zier (the man behing B&W Hallerne diamond stage) has been inspired by the idea of antique amphitheatres. The audience will be all around the artists, and a big screen will help create a specific atmosphere for each performance.
