Greece 2018 🇬🇷 second rehearsal: beware of Greeks bearing … notes!
Fotis Konstantopoulos (Greece)
GREECE – Undoubtedly is one of the betting odds losers this year although the song restore some of its out-rights in the overall tables. Nevertheless the country remain a “secure” qualifier for the final. Press and fans love the song but they don’t love the empty staging. Vocally Yianna is giving a good performance and visually this looked great with a lot of blue lighting – along with the white dress there is no mistaking where this entry is from. The dress is making Yianna look like a Goddess although she represents the idea of The Motherland discussing with the Greeks, something some people understand but language barrier can bee a negative thing. But lots of fans and press agree that it was about time to listen to something in the native language. There is indeed a problem again with the final pitch of notes. Honestly I love the song, but I have to be fair, qualification for Greece is on the edge!
GREECE 🇬🇷 ON THE WEB
ESCKAZ.COM: The issues with the choreography in the bridge still remain though and I still think it looks unnatural to not have the backings appear on stage at some point in this performance.
ESCBUBBLE.COM: Technically it looks good but Yianna has LOTS of work to do before her Semi if she wants to qualify.
ESCXTRA.COM: Yianna sounds great and harmonises wonderfully with the powerful backing vocals. Oh wait. She just completely failed to hit the two big notes….never mind.
EUROVOIX.COM: The song starts of vocally quite weak, and does improve but she does still struggle throughout the song. The lighting work quite well, and creates a very nice atmosphere, but this could very well not qualify.
