Greece 2018 🇬🇷 eliminated participants not to take legal actions against ERT but Germany still mocks the way the selection took place
GREECE – It was reported today that eliminated participants in the 2018 Greek national final, Areti Ketime and group Horostalites would take legal actions against ERT regarding the procedure of the project. The report was refute hours later by Areti Ketime stating that she is no intending to proceed to such actions and harm the Greek entry. It was also falsely reported that both eliminated participants will give a joint press conference to explain what really happened.
This comes after the statements of Yianna Terzi outside the ERT premises saying that she had nothing to do with the elimination of her colleagues as accused by them in the social media and called them to take responsibility of their actions.
In the meantime the Greek mess turned into a Greek joke during the German national final on February 22nd. Hostess of Unser Lied fur Lissabon, Linda Zervakis (of Greek origins) explained to the German viewers how Greeks held their national final “Ellinikos Telikos”. She said that the Greek national final was suppose to take place tonight but two songs were disqualified and then two more disqualified and one left to represent the country, Yianna Teerzi. I think, Linda says, it has to do with the money. The co host asks Linda if she thinks that someone was pushed and she responds negatively (in laughing). The co host says, it would be like NDR would send you to Eurovision (laugh).
Well at least we hope that Ms Zervakis is aware that Greek entry for 2018 Eurovision Song Contest has already achieved 1 million views on YouTube and became number one on iTunes and Spotify.
Surely Germany cannot expect any points from Greece this year (again!)
It’s not the first time the German national broadcaster jokes about Greece. Ion 2015 Barbara Schöneberger trying to explain to the German audience why Australia is participating in Eurovision she just responded: “for the same reasons Greece is in the Euro zone”.
