ATHENS, GREECE – One of the most anticipated entries this year for those desperate to find out why this country will not even make it to the final this year, is the Greek entry. Tomorrow as of 12:00 CET (and 13:00 CET on live stream) stop breathing, working, living, get as many bottles of ouzo and get drunk. That’s the only way to cheer for the “Utopian Land” the song by Argo Band which will represent the country in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest.
After the mini press conference behind closed doors with SELECTED only journalists (obviously the friendly media to ERT) the band will be invited to ERT new show “Studio 3” along with George Katsaros and OGAE Greece President. We will find out more about the band which is famous for … nothing in the country and we will see the official video clip which is made with the band as cartoons!
In the meantime it is now known that Konstantinos Patzogloju assisted by Areti Mpitta. The stage presentation will be organised by Maria Lyraraki and commentators once again Yorgos Kapoutzides and Maria Kozakou.
ARGO, internally selected by ERT’s President Dionysis Tsaknis, consists of Christina Lahana (singer), Maria Venetikidis (vocals), Vladimir Sofianidis (vocals), Kostas Topouzi (Pontian lyre), Elijah Kessidis (vocals – percussion) and Alekos Papadopoulos (tabor), and is described as a folk/traditional band.
