Greece 2015: NERIT opts internal selection due to elections
Fotis Konstantopoulos (Greece)
ATHENS, GREECE – Following the report of oikotimes.com regarding the preparations of NERIT and MAD TV, Greek media reported today that Greece is examining the option of internal selection if political developments force them to. If a second round of elections is needed in Greece there is no time for the country to hold a national selection.
In the meantime NERIT and MAD TV have chosen the participants, the new venue and the date for the national selection and if the political developments allow them. Unfortunately we are not allowed to reveal any information for them. The sure thing is that if a national selection or internal selection take place, the names will surprise you!
Greece already submitted participation papers to the EBU as NERIT became an active member on December 4th. The fee is about to be paid in April but if the country forced to withdraw will have to pay a huge fine. This will be the case if a potential SY.RIZ.A government decides to shutdown NERIT and re-instate ERT which is no longer active member of the EBU.
