GPB STRUGGLING TO MAKE IT ON TIME
TBILISI, GEORGIA – Georgia’s national broadcaster GBP says it will be “touch and go” whether it will take part in next year’s Eurovision Song Contest. The network’s interim Director General, who will take up his position in January, is unable to sign off on major financial projects such as Eurovision, meaning Georgia is currently unable to pay participation fees for the 2014 contest. GBP is in touch with the EBU and has informed them of their situation. Both sides will cooperate in order for the country to take part in Copenhagen next year.
