Gianluca Bezzina, the 23 year old doctor, winner of the Malta Eurovision 2013, is still trying to come to terms with the fact that in May, he will be Malta’s ambassador in the Eurovision Song Contest, in Malmo Sweden.
Gianluca started practicing his profession as a doctor since July 2012, along with his girlfriend Maria Deguara; also a doctor.
Interviewed by tvm.com.mt Gianluca said that his participation in the Malta Eurovision occurred after the pressure and encouragement of his singing sister Dorothy Bezzina, who was also a finalist in this year’s Malta Eurovision.
Gianluca has been brought up with his six siblings in Qrendi, the youngest one is still 14 years old. His parents Sonya and Charles told tvm.com.mt that they have never expected Gianluca to participate in the Malta’s Eurovision, let alone winning it.
The song ‘Tomorrow’ written by Dean Muscat, and composed by Boris Cezek managed to win with 92 points, 10 points of which were the vote given from the general public.
