PARTICIPANTS GATHER IN OPENING PARTY PHOTO GALLERY
One of the best Opening Parties for Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place last night in Amsterdam’s Mercure Hotel which is the official base of the project this year. First of all congratulations to the hosts of the party and AVRO as they managed to make the party interactive giving us live feed on the spot, kept smiling all the time and approached gently all the participants.
Now some gossip! The hosting of the party was great despite the party kicking off an hour later than scheduled (we all understand that). The songs performed live during the presentation of the countries; so let’s start discussing them: Belarus didn’t impress us at all this year, Azerbaijan on the other hand shouts they are here to pay… sorry to win! They will use a major stage prop on stage they said.
Belgium was quite interesting, after all Fabian is very a very confident kid. Junior Eurovision winner of 2009 Ralf was also there greeting all participants and wishing them the best of luck. He will sing a brand new song version of his 2009 entry in the interval of the contest. Israel was disappointing, the boy cannot give the high note (at least in the party). Israel is the favourite (but we truly wonder).
Russian representative Lerika proven to be the Queen of the ball. She might not succeeded last year with Moldova much but this year she is here to win and we believe her. Nice vocal and dance skills and of course a confident face which works perfectly for the cameras. Albania was funny as the country is surely unprepared to support an act in this contest as well as in the senior edition. Average song and no confidence by their singer.
While Armenia performed it was so obvious that the war between Azerbaijan and Armenia moved to Amsterdam. Mercure hall was all over with Azeri and Armenian flags waving. Get a life both of you (countries). Ukrainian song is powerful and Anastasiya is full of energy but I cannot see this song doing anything next Saturday. My last remark is about Georgia: they think they will win every year – wake up!
