Gallery: NTU reveal JESC 2014 selection details
KYIV, UKRAINE – The semifinal of the Ukrainian National Selection has just been held in NTU studio. According to the rules of the National selection the jury members formed by the people’s proposals submitted to the NTU have selected 19 young artists who are given the chance to continue the competition in the final. The competition was tough and it was difficult for the jury to choose the best ones.
Five jury members were making their decision concerning the best entries for the national final. The jury members were represented by the Ukrainian experts in music sphere such as:
Mykhailo Nekrasov – a famous Ukrainian composer, who created the song “Gravity” performed by Zlata Ognevich at ESC-2013 in Malmo. He also made the music arrangement of Ruslana’s winning song “Wild Dances” in 2004 and Tina Karol’s “Show me your love” in 2006. The previous year he collaborated with Sofia Tarasova, a Ukrainian representative at JESC-2013, being a composer of the song “We Are One” and also a composer of the whole show of JESC-2013 in Kyiv.
Nataliia Miedviedieva – a senior vocal coach of Kyiv Municipal Academy of Circus and Variety Arts, has worked with many national and international TV shows.
Andre France – a Ukrainian composer, lyricist, producer, has worked within many Ukrainian TV projects.
Anzhela Kopotia – an art director of the dancing group “Dance Studio-A6” which has become a winner of many national and international contests and projects. Anzhela has worked as an art director with many Ukrainian artists having created her own stage performances for different shows.
Illaria – a Ukrainian singer, lyricist, composer. She combines successfully the folk style in music with the modern trends. Illaria is a winner of the National contest “Chervona Ruta”, prize winner of the international festivals “Skhidnyy bazar” (Eastern market) and “Crimeamusicfest”, semifinalist of the vocal TV contest “The Voice. New story.” and a finalist of the National selection for the ESC-2014.
According to the rules of the Ukrainian National Selection the winner of the TV project “Music Academy Eurovision” was supposed to join the number of finalists to constitute the exact number of finalists which is 20. A real surprise of the show was that three winners of the “Music Academy Eurovision” have been put together and formed a trio that will participate in the show as the 20th finalist which consists of the following young singers: Sofiia Kutsenko, Amaliia Krymska, Marta Rak. So, the list of the finalists for the Ukrainian National Selection looks like this:

Duet “Boikov sisters”
Vocal Ensemble “Zabava” (“Fun”)
