GALLERY: HUNGARIANS DON’T HAVE A CLUE!
BUDAPEST, HUNGARY – After eight long hours spent in train we have finally arrived in Budapest. After settling down in hotel we went straight into the city, and what would be a better place to find young people then a shopping mall.
When we came there and saw the people were very thought that the job will be easily done, but we were so wrong. It is known that today if you want to have a decent job, you at least need to know one foreign language and that is English. So because most of people said that they don’t understand us or don’t speak English we were wondered are they pretending just to avoid us, or they really don’t know it.
Fortunately we were lucky enough to find some people that did know it, so we finally could ask them about A Dal, but then another shock came. Only few of them knew that is happening this Saturday. Some of them thought that Andras Kallay has already won, even though he wasn’t their favorite.
But in search for well informed people we ran into a Greek tavern, so you have to admit that Greeks are everywhere. In the end we found one person who actually knew what are we talking about and what is going to happen this Saturday evening.
Because of all that, for so many times today I’ve wished that I knew how to speak Hungarian. In our quest we made a lot of pictures, so you will see some animal figures standing upside down. You will think that something is wrong with the picture. Well it’s not! They are, believe it or not on the ceiling.
I have to say that they perfectly describe people’s level of knowledge of current events. All what we have left is hope that we will have more luck tomorrow, as we plan to go Vaci Street, main pedestrian and probably the most popular street in Budapest.
