France 2015: Lisa Angell to Vienna
Olivier Rocher (France)
PARIS, FRANCE – This morning, on his Twitter account and also during an interview on RTL radio, French head of delegation Frédéric Valencak, reveiled the news many of us were expecting for weeks now.
After an internal selection from France 2, it was announced that the 2015 French entrant will be Lisa Angell, with the song “N’Oubliez Pas “ (Do Not Forget).
“N’Oubliez Pas” is a classical French ballad, about war. It was written by Robert Goldman (the man behind Natasha St Pier’s “Je N’ai Que Mon Âme”) last November, during the WWI 100th anniversary celebrations. The producer of the entry is no other than Jean-Claude Camus, one of the main names in French music scene.
The song is a dramatic one and will of course have a special sound to French ears after the recent events in Paris. Two words can define the French entry this year: voice and emotion.
Further information (premiere of the entry…) will be disclosed in due course. In the meantime there are 10 seconds sample of the songs on RTL website.
Not a big name for France, but a professionnal artist, a big team and a big voice. At last! Let us just hope this act won’t be too old fashiooned… It all depends on the entry right now. Wait and see.
