Former Spanish finalist Braquette releases rejected NF entry
SPAIN – Former Spanish Eurovision finalist, Braquette Cassie has launched her new single. The single is one of the three songs which Braquette presented in her pitch to represent Spain in Kiev. “Twist of Fate” is the title of the song and was composed alongside Rubén Villanueva, the composer of “Say Yay”, the song that Barei took to represent Spain at Eurovision 2016.
Braquette attempted to represent Spain at Eurovision in both 2014 and 2017. She came second in the 2014 final and was unable to qualify for the final in 2017 with the song “No Enemy”, the one which was preferred to the total three that were originally submitted.
Initially Braquette placed third among the public vote but another round incorporating the Jury vote took place almost immediately and at that stage, the singer, found herself eliminated from the contest. Braquette was not pleased with the selection process for 2017 but decided to make no comments regarding events which eventually resulted in a questionable national final.
