MADRID, SPAIN – RTVE chief of production and the main person in charge of the Spanish delegation for Eurovision, Federico Llano, has been named Vice President of the EBU at the latest assembly meeting that took place in Manchester today.
Llano who started working for RTVE in 1983 and since 1994 has worked as the main RTVE representative at the EBU. He was chosen as the television committee member in 2010 and spent six years working as part of the reference group for Eurovision.
The Committee is made up of fourteen professionals from all the public European television bodies and is in charge of fixing and organising the various important events that form part of the EBU, among which can be found the Eurovision Song Contest.
The recent assembly meeting has taken place in Manchester, at the BBC Media City and involved discussions on European programming and the digitization of public television throughout the EBU. The meeting is also a chance to discuss and share successful television programming among EBU members.
